You will be hosted by Donovan

Host with nearly ten years of experience in Syracuse’s hospitality sector. Since 2016 I have managed an established property near the Greek Theatre, placing guest care and high operational standards at the core of my work. In October 2026 I will open Guest House Ortigia Calarossa, a prestige residence in Ortigia’s historic center, 200 meters from the Cathedral and steps from Cala Rossa. My approach to hospitality combines local expertise with genuine attention to people: I want every guest to feel at home from the moment they arrive. For this reason I provide self check-in via electronic keypad, independent climate control, fiber-optic Wi-Fi for remote work, premium-grade amenities, and cleaning under professional protocols.I remain available, with discretion, for recommendations on itineraries, traditional dining, and local services, so you can experience Ortigia at the island’s authentic, unhurried pace. The goal is to offer a serene, private, and tailored stay in a home designed to make you feel welcome.

Area Ortigia

Ortigia is the most beautiful part of Syracuse: a real island, linked to the city by two small bridges and entirely pedestrian. Every corner here tells a story. There’s the Cathedral built on a Greek temple, Piazza Duomo that turns into an open-air living room at night, the Arethusa Spring where papyrus still grows, and Castello Maniace looking out over the sea.Walk through pale stone alleys and you’ll find courtyards with flower pots, artisan shops, bars for breakfast with granita and brioche, seafood restaurants and traditional trattorias. Fancy a swim? Calarossa beach and the seaside solariums are five minutes from your door.Ortigia is alive all year. Markets, exhibitions, live music, and those sunset strolls along the seafront that never get old. It’s perfect if you want an authentic, safe place with everything at hand and the sea always close. Sleeping here means waking up in the heart of Syracuse.
